Rachael Griffith

Rachael Griffith enters her third season as head coach of the Western Connecticut State University women’s lacrosse program in 2025-26. She came to Danbury in 2023 and quickly led the Wolves to the Little East Conference (LEC) regular season title with a perfect 7-0 record. In 2025, WestConn set a program record with 17 wins, captured the LEC title, and won an NCAA Tournament first-round game.
Griffith previously coached at Otterbein University, guiding the Cardinals to two OAC semifinal appearances. A Florida Southern graduate, Griffith was a team captain, two-time all-conference defender, and helped the Moccasins win the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship. She later coached there for one season, helping the team win another conference title and return to the NCAA final.
Griffith coached the previous five seasons at Otterbein University, serving as the Cardinals' head coach in 2022 and 2023. Griffith guided Otterbein to 8-8 seasons in both 2022 and 2023 and to consecutive appearances in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship Semifinals. The Cardinals boasted eight all-conference selection in Griffith's two seasons as head coach and five CSC Academic All-District honorees last spring. She mentored OAC Midfielder of the Year and All-Region selection Emily Willms in 2023. A graduate of Florida Southern College, Griffith was a team captain, a two-time all-conference selection and an All-American defender for the Moccasins and helped them win the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship title. Griffith earned a bachelor's degree from Florida Southern in healthcare administration and also owns a master's degree from Otterbein in allied health. She coached at her alma mater for one season, helping Florida Southern win the Sunshine State Conference title and return to the NCAA Division II Championship game. Griffith is a native of Ellicott City, Maryland.
